This image shows how a flood panel reacts when water pushes against it. The colors go from blue (no bending) to red (most bending). As you can see, the center of the panel – especially near the top – bends the most. This test was done on a 10-foot-wide panel at 4.6 feet high. The red area shows where the panel moves the most under pressure, while the blue edges show where it stays firm because it’s supported.
The wider the opening, the more pressure the panel has to handle in the middle. That’s why it’s important to request stronger, higher-integrity panels for wider spaces – so they don’t bend too much or risk breaking when water rises.

BarrierX™ Installation Guide
STEP 1: INSTALL THE MOUNTING POSTS
- Decide inside or outside placement; outside adds stability.
- Rubber seals face the wall; U-channel faces the area to protect.
- Drill holes for wall anchors.
- Insert and expand anchors to secure posts.
- Mount on solid surfaces like concrete, cement, or cinderblock.
STEP 2: INSERT BARRIERX™ PANELS
- Slide panels into U-channel slots on both sides. Each panel has a sticker indicating which opening it is for and the correct order for mounting.
- Loosen top bracket and bolts for smooth insertion.
- Ensure rubber seals face downward for watertight fit.
- Stack panels to desired height.
- Add reflective tape on top panel if included.
STEP 3: SECURE THE PANELS
- Tighten panels with provided Allen wrench.
- Insert and tighten top clamps.
- Adjust bolts for a snug watertight fit.
