Product and Specifications

What is Rubicon Flood Control, and what do you offer?

The Rubicon Flood Control is an advanced aluminum panel flood barrier system designed to protect homes, buildings, and facilities from storm surges, hurricane flooding, and heavy rains. It offers a modern and reliable alternative to traditional flood protection methods like sandbags. Rubicon Flood Control provides innovative flood protection solutions, including a durable aluminum flood barrier system designed to protect doorways, garages, and other vulnerable entry points from storm surges and flooding.

How does the Rubicon Flood Control system operate?

Similar to hurricane shutters, Rubicon Flood Control is deployed only when a flood threat is imminent. Our system uses vertical aluminum posts mounted on either side of openings, with horizontal panels stacked between them. Rubber seals on the panels create a watertight barrier, protecting against floodwaters.

Posts can be installed permanently, while lightweight aluminum panels are stored between uses for quick and easy deployment. The system’s aluminum planks are inserted into permanently mounted U-Channel Posts and stacked to the desired height. The planks are clamped and secured from the top, ensuring the barrier remains in place under pressure.

What materials are used in the construction of Rubicon Flood Control?

The panels are made from high-quality 6063 anodized aluminum with durable rubber seals for a secure, watertight fit. This ensures long-lasting performance even in harsh environments.

Can the system protect against saltwater flooding?

The system is designed to withstand hurricane storm surges and significant water pressure. Specific performance specifications are available upon request.

How are your barriers different from sandbags?

The system’s lightweight, user-friendly design allows for rapid deployment , even by individuals with limited physical strength. Unlike sandbags, it eliminates the hassle of heavy lifting and cleanup after the floodwaters recede. Our barriers are reusable, faster to install, and more effective at creating a watertight seal compared to sandbags, which are labor-intensive and single-use.

How does Rubicon Flood Control achieve a watertight seal?

RubiconX uses dual-seal technology, including EPDM rubber linings in the U-Channel Posts and EPDM plank seals on the underside of each plank, ensuring minimal water intrusion.

Customization and Compatibility

How customizable is the system?

The system is highly customizable , with panel heights available in 20 cm (8-inch) increments up to 160 cm (63 inches), and widths tailored to fit various openings, from doors and windows to double garages.

Is Rubicon Flood Control suitable for both residential and commercial properties?

Yes, Rubicon Flood Control is designed for use in  both residential, commercial and industrial applications, offering tailored protection for various property types. We are also happy to support any government buildings that need flood protection.

Can Rubicon Flood Control be used for large openings like garages, sliding doors, or storefronts?

Yes, the system is designed to protect doorways, garages, and other large openings. The system includes additional support structures for  spans exceeding 350 cm (137 inches), making it suitable for larger openings. Custom solutions are also available.

Can the barriers be painted to match my home or building?

Yes, the aluminum panels can be powder-coated or painted to match your building’s aesthetic

What surfaces are suitable for attaching the mounting posts?

The posts should be fixed to a solid surface, such as concrete, cement, or cinderblock, to ensure stability.

Are your flood barriers compatible with uneven surfaces?

Our system can accommodate minor uneven surfaces. However, in some situations, additional sealing precautions may be required for optimal performance.

Installation and Setup

Is Rubicon Flood System easy to install?

Yes, Rubicon Flood Control is engineered for effortless and quick installation, ensuring users can prepare their properties efficiently during emergencies. The posts are permanently mounted, and the panels are installed only when a hurricane or hurricane surge is imminent, similar to traditional hurricane shutters.

Can I install the system myself, or do I need a professional?

We highly recommend professional installation for optimal performance and proper sealing. Incorrect installation may result in water leakage. But when installed, you will be able to mount and dismount the barrier yourself.

Are the flood barriers permanent fixtures?

The vertical posts remain permanently mounted, but the horizontal panels are only installed when flooding is anticipated.

How do I ensure a watertight seal during installation?

Ensure the rubber seal on each plank faces downward and press down on the bottom plank to create a secure connection with the ground.

Can I install the mounting posts on the inside of the opening?

Yes, the posts can be installed inside or outside the opening. However, mounting them on the outside is often preferred for enhanced stability, as the wall provides added support.

What tools are required to install the mounting posts?

A hammer drill is required to create holes for the expanding wall anchors included in the kit.

How do I secure the planks in place after they are inserted?

Use the provided Allen wrench to tighten the planks against the internal rubber seals and secure the top locking clamps to apply additional pressure.

How quickly can I get the barrier system installed after placing an order?

If very much depends on the kind of openings and the number of openings you have and if you need standard or customized solution.

We will soon be offering additional wall brackets to make storage even more convenient.

Is there any maintenance required?

Maintenance is minimal, with only occasional replacement of rubber seals needed to maintain watertight performance. This produt appears expensive. Why should I make this kind of investment?

Flood damage can have devastating consequences—not just for your property but for your peace of mind. It’s essential to focus on the value Rubicon Flood Barrier provides compared to the potential losses you could face.

Flooding can occur even in areas outside designated flood zones, where flood insurance isn’t required or common. If you’re uninsured and a flood strikes, you bear the full financial burden.

Even if you are insured, payouts can take months or even years. During this time, you might have to relocate your family, pay for temporary housing, and replace personal items—all of which require significant upfront costs.

Waiting for insurance funds can also lead to further damage to your home. Water quickly destroys floors, cabinets, and walls, while black mold can render your home uninhabitable and potentially unsalvageable.

Alternatives like sandbags are labor-intensive and unreliable. During a storm, carrying heavy sandbags is not practical—especially for seniors, single parents, or anyone with physical limitations. Rubicon Flood Barriers provide a simple, effective solution that requires minimal effort while ensuring maximum protection.

The true cost of flooding extends far beyond money. It’s the disruption to your life, the stress of relocating, and the effort to rebuild what’s lost—not to mention the significant costs you’ll have to incur before, or even if, you receive any money from insurance. The emotional toll of losing irreplaceable belongings, such as photographs and memorabilia, is immeasurable. Rubicon Flood Barriers offer the peace of mind that comes with knowing you’re proactively protecting your home and family from disaster and financial loss.

When you compare the value of Rubicon Flood Barriers to the potential financial and emotional costs of flood damage, it’s clear they’re not just a purchase but an investment in security, safety, and peace of mind. Protect your future—invest in prevention today!
