How It Works
The RubiconX system operates much like traditional hurricane shutters, designed for deployment only when a flood threat is imminent. The posts can be installed permanently for maximum convenience, while the lightweight aluminum panels are stored between uses, typically in a garage, ensuring they are ready for rapid deployment when needed.
Installation
- Initial Installation: Posts are secured permanently or semi-permanently, depending on user preference. Supporting posts for wider spans are anchored in concrete for added stability. Initial installation is straightforward and can usually be completed within a single day, though professional installation may be required for certain setups.
- Deployment: When a hurricane or flood warning is issued, the aluminum panels are attached to the posts to create a watertight barrier. This process typically takes 2-3 hours, depending on the size and complexity of the system.
Storage and Maintenance
